Phillip Donnellon

Donnellon is to film what Robin Hood is to crime; defender of the detail, protector of the whimsy, trumpeting the small things that make life a joy.

Christof - big toast Entertainment.

Phillip Donnellon was born and educated in Melbourne, Australia where he studied Fine Art and Illustration at Frankston Tafe and then Photography and Copywriting at The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. Wanting to pivot to film he was rejected three times by film school and yet his first, independently made short film was selected to compete in Cannes. Working nights as a projectionist helped fund his first projects which were all shot on 35mm. All of Phillip's shorts are award winners and have played in hundreds of festivals worldwide, owing in part to their lack of dialogue. Phillip cashed in any privileges afforded to him by the success of his shorts for a life and love in Germany. Starting anew, Phillip's films now, as then, are universal stories that are timeless, poignant and speak from the heart.
